| With the current findings in Jerusalem such as these coins of 1,300 years ago, the half-a-shekel coin found near the Temple Mount site, the Roman earring - it`s just amazing. But what a juxtiposition to the current Middle East conflict, when we see evidence (from historical, scientific, cultural, religious) of continual occupations of civilizations. And while taking an anthropology course which involved an archaeological dig through the University of Windsor, I was thrilled when I found an 1812 coin (Austrian/Hungarian origin) at an excavation in historical Windsor/Detroit area (Amherstburg) where there was the 1812 war between the British Upper Canada troops and the Americans. |
