Thanks, I made your suggested correction to my records. However, the general usage of "Roman" as applied to the Eastern Roman Empire following the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476, should not confuse the literate.
Recall that Justinian, who built Jerusalem`s Hagia Sophia on the site of the present Dome of the Rock Mosque (built as a 1/2 scale replica of Justinian`s church) had as his supreme ambition the reconstitution of the great Roman Empire, combining both its Eastern and Western territories. So the spirit of Rome certainly thrived and flourished under Justinian in the 6th century, and could not have been utterly extinguished under successive emperors.
My point is that historical evidence attests to the fact that the Temple Mount was nothing other than the 6th century handiwork of Justinan, and NOT the work of Herod the Great. No Jewish Temple ever stood on the "Temple Mount". The true location of the Jewish Temples is revealed by a careful study of the evidence. |
