There`s a specific Act of Parliament that requires us to keep all that good stuff that we plundered from all over the world during the glory days of Empire.
We look after it all very nicely, though, Harry.
The Elgin Marbles that Greece wants back would have crumbled to dust had we not carefully packed them up and brought them to London.
One of my favourite exhibits in the British Museum is nothing particularly special. It`s a single brick from Babylon, with King Nebuchadnazzar`s name on it.
You read about this man (who built the Hanging Gardens) in the Old Testament and there, in front of you, in one breath-taking moment, you see the absolute proof that he lived and breathed.
And - no - the Iraqis can`t have it back. They`ve got plenty of their own.
For anyone who hasn`t visited London, the British Museum and all the other major museums and art galleries are totally free to enter.
