The anti-Israel charges from the left and others will fly any time when not a Jew is killed in the conflict. But this Israeli`s response to Gaza shelling is as justified as couner-productive.
Hamas takeover of Gaza was a blessing to Israel that needed to be cheered. Gaza is in a unique position to be a Palestinian state: it has no Jewish population and 2 independent from Israel boarders-the land with Egypt and the the sea with the whole world. Israeli`s sea blocade(there is no blocade, as one knows, on the Egypt side) is an extremely humane but internationally hirtfull and totally futile attempt to keep off the flow of arms to Gaza. When the dust of this mini-war settles Israel should recognize Hamas` victory,remove the sea blocade and completely seal the land boarder Let the arab world to build a Dubai in Gaza, that may change gazan`s attitude toward Israel`s shooting back at their oasis. In a short time they will be able to let Israelis in to work for them. |
