The policeman are not different from a military wing when it comes to Hamas. This is not an official State with layers of security and bureaucracy. In Hamas, every person with a gun is a fighter - whether he fires a rocket at Israel or beats up on a few Christians or adults coming from an Internet Cafe. They declare this themselves.
So when you look at Hamas do not compare them to NYPD and Army Reservists at the airports. They are one group, with one agenda, with a massive arsenal, and funded by other militant forces....and perfectly legitimate to target. |
