Israel has always been a rapid attack deploy and destroy army. They analyze the enemies weaknesses hit hard and then wait for them to surrender.
Taking Cairo, Damascus or Amman would have meant an unusually huge investment which Tiny Israel could not support. That was why two of the three chose to make peace. They accepted the fact that armed by the U.S. versus armed by the Russkies, Israelis still knew how to kick back and hard.
Terrorism is a different beast. These guys have no issue fighting to the death. They also have no rules. Collateral damage, killing civilians is the name of their game...whether its Israelis or their own people. Therefore fighting that type of enemy is dangerous. They will dress like Granny`s, Seniors and children as well as Israeli soldiers. The rules of war don`t exist for them. Difficult to fight. However, one thing is for certain.
