| The problem, of course, is that Hamas wishes Israel gone and Israeli`s dead. Those who may wishfully believe that it will moderate its views the way that Fatah seems to have done (although some may question how sincere this transformation has been in view of the Al Aqsa Martyr`s Brigade`s continuing activities), fail to consider that much of Hamas` growth in recent years has come about precisely because it remains steadfast in its destructive aims. The moderates have a home- Fatah. The rejectionists do too and with this constituency Hamas will not change its spots. It must be defanged NOW! |
