Perhaps the resolution has received little comment due to its similarity to SC/8775, vetoed by the US in July 2006. Or its similarity to SC/8867, vetoed by the US in November 2006. These resolutions have no teeth, are typically ignored by combatants.
It may also be there`s a great deal of apathy about the whole situation. Hey, those Gazans have been held from returning to their original homes for 60 years. What`s another 60? They`ll give up sooner or later, won`t they? And even if they don`t... another 20 or 30 years from now all the old folks who actually hold property titles will be dead anyway. Ho hum.... |
