| Israel has a history of "disproportionate response" when they are attacked. This strategy always includes a large number of civilian casualties and material damage. Predictably, "disproportionate response" prompts major international outcry. Israel "combats" the protests with a multi-track PR and propaganda campaign which varies very little frmo case to case. On one hand, there is an attempt to show that Israels actions are "legal" and "moral". On the other hand, an attempt is made to make light of Israels victims and to portray Israel (or the Jews) as the real victim. We have seen that quite clearly following the Gaza op. The ADL always plays its "one note Samba" whenever the opportunity presents itself. Criticism or protests against Israel are painted as "anti-semitism". "Anti-semitism" is implied to be the greatest of crimes. This song and dance has served Israel well over the decades, but lately has not done so well. Perhaps their audience has gotten wise to the act. |
