| Operation Cast Lead was turned into a public opinion circus. The IDF had an opportunity to eliminate a greater proportion of Hamas militants. Night vision equipment should have been used more and there should have been a "decapitation" of Hamas. Instead, there was an over reliance on airpower and intelligence was often wasted. Fighting like the Americans is not what was needed. The IDF tried so hard to protect civilians, even ringing up Hamas officials telling them to leave their homes and came out of this conflict with the world focusing on the damage to civilian life in Gaza rather than the 6,500 rockets fired at Israel. |
