| Harel has it upside down: the left isn`t the problem, it`s the rest of Israel. We in America have been there, done that, thinking (in 2003) that we could win by use of military force, never mind that we were breaking international law, alienating allies who we needed and flying in the face of real evidence. For America it was 9/11 that made us angry and eager to lash out without thinking through the consequences: for Israel it`s the Qassams. Now, with 4,000 dead soldiers, 1 trillion dollars lost, and increased middle east terrorism, the majority of Americans realize that the left was correct back in 2003 and the American majority was wrong. Israel will also eventually realize it`s catastrophic mistakes in not seeking other solutions and supporting hard right parties -- perhaps too late for a two state solution. |
