The creators of "Waltz with Vashir" have succeeded where Gideon Levy has failed - focusing a critical eye on Israel`s behavior during the First Lebanon War.
The reason Ari Folman has succeeded where Gideon Levy has failed is that, while Gideon Levy`s extreme anti-Israel diatribes have alienated many readers, Folman`s more balanced treatment of the subject matter, based on his own experiences in Kebanon makes many more people pause and think, rathwer than immediately retreat to their partisan positions.
In sum, Gideon Levy does both Ha`aretz and the peace cause a great disservice, by attacking brutally instead of winning people over with words of wisdom.
