| Spain, Italy, & Germany have always struggled with the concept of a national interest that would guide governmental policy. After fascism fell in these 3 countries, each has been wary of taking a stand on any international issue, given that countries with no moral compass can be expected to behave like autistic children: they are aware that the world condemns them for their aggression, but cannot understand that what they did is wrong. Spain, Italy, & Germany lead opposition to an expanded European role in NATO`s Afghanistan mission, given that these countries have absolutely lost the will to fight for anything. Spain, whose existence after the Moors` defeat had been devoted solely to forced conversions and pillaging the New World and causing much of the poverty that still remains in the Americas, will behave like a boorish, medieval twit when given a soapbox. Israel should flex its muscles a bit versus Spain, a state that negotiates with terrorists and cowers in fear when challenged. |
