As a decidedly browned-off Catholic I wouldn`t advise anybody to try to dialogue with the Vatican. But then, that`s not the proposition. Dialogue does need flexibility and honesty. Don`t look to the Vatican for that. But I wonder whether Muslims and Jews are capable of flexibility and honesty? Failing that, overwhelming self-interest should bring some measure of progress.
