It is legitimate to shoot women who are disobeying curfew orders. In the past, such women have been used to spy and even as suicide bombers.

And yes, mistakes (such as the sharpshooter incident) do occur in war. (The US made many more mistakes in Iraq.)

And what news is there in reporting that some soldiers are bigoted? That occurs in every society.

The first incident (orders to shoot first without giving warning) is disturbing as written. However, based on other reporting I have heard, the army did call all these people and drop leaflets asking the residents to leave. Assuming that that was done and that the residents ignored those orders, then the commander was risking the lives of his soldiers in allowing suicide bombers to attack them (as in fact happened in Lebanon).
