| There is a reformation taking place in Islam that would have been unheard of just a few years ago. In a question posed in a Pakistani newspaper whether Pakistan should normalize relations with Israel, an overwhelming majority of respondents said Yes! I know its a drop in the bucket, but check out these websites: arabsforisrael.com and irshadmanji.com. There are more online. Its getting harder and harder for some Moslems living in multi-cultural societies to ignore the lies they have been fed. I recently attended a dialogue with a Canadian Moslem politician born in Syria, a female lawyer from Syria, an Israeli and a Canadian Jew. It was incredibly open and often condemnatory about their own countries. Its hard for Israelis to believe but there are chinks in the stereotypes. It may be time to stop fighting for a while and start talking with the moderates. |
