| Yes, the failure to respond to fire from Gaza was a mistake, but as recent events show, Israel won`t be allowed by the world to respond as needed to terror. So, withdraw from the West Bank and have Gaza and rockets meters from downtown Jerusalem, with Israel`s hands tied by the world. A better scenario for self-destruction I could not imagine. There is only one thing that consistently has proven itself a true barrier to terror, and that is boots on the ground in the home areas of the terrorists, as in the West Bank. Give that up and your security evaporates for good. The Gaza withdrawal`s sad history shows that Israel cannot afford throwing caution to the wind just because the alternatives are difficult. |
