| Unilateral withdrawal from Lebanon & Gaza did not produce peace or an ounce of goodwill. As soon as we left Gaza, they destroyed the greenhouses, our synagogues and continued shelling our civilians. In each case, unilateral withdrawal resulted in eventual wars. Have the palestinians ever done anything unilaterally? Of course no. We can`t even get them to accept our right to exist but we should unilaterally withdraw? Why not try some reciprocity? When you get something for free, you don`t value it as much as if you had to work for it. And after a unilateral withdrawal from West Bank, what will they demand next? Jerusalem? Tel Aviv? Haifa? Shall we unilaterally leave there as well? Do you actually think that peace would spontaneously erupt? Naive doesn`t begin to describe this thinking. Hopefully this candidate will immediately be removed from consideration - deservedly so. |
