All,
If Israel starts to dismantle outposts and settlements in the WB, Will the West object? I think not.
Abbas was offered a piece of Jerusalem, 93% of the WB, a doubling of the size of Gaza and a corridor through the State of Israel and refused to provide a counter-offer. That was Olmert`s second offer.
Clearly, the most moderate Palestinian can`t even respond to the most moderate Israeli offer.
It is possible that Oren (if he is speaking for Netanyahu) can withdraw to a border that Israel can live with and delay the `final status` for a little while.
This will push the `One State Solution` off the table in case the Pals want to negotiate seriously sometime in the future.
Of course, Israel needs a rocket defense to make that happen. They have finally bought some Phalanx/Vulcans for short defense and it looks like the Iron Dome is coming on line to defend against Fajrs and Katyushas. They have Patriots to defend against longer range missiles. Let`s see. |
