I appreciate your concern, but you ignore two vital principles:
1. At an official level, Israel has steadfastly shunned the Arab League Peace Initiative. There has been discussion, but not serious discusslion nor serious action to accept the Arab offer, which only can bring lasting and just peace.
2. The resistance to the Arab Peace Plan on the part of radical elements among Israel`s aggrieved neighbours is not unconditional nor categorical. Statements by Hamas and Iran have clearly inicated that Israel`s OCCUPATION fuels their resistance, not Israel`s EXISTENCE. In other words, they are ready to accept the Saudi Plan, if Israel accepts it. Hizbollah should be no different in principle. Any bitter holdouts, as on the Israeli side as well, will shrivel up and blow away with the passage of time and the regional peace to come founded on international guarantees. |
