| Rabbi Lau said before the current pope`s arrival that the previous Pope John-Paul`s act would be hard to beat. As this pope is not as charismatic, did not grow up among Jews and has the additional burden of being of German extraction, Rabbi Lau, a holocaust survivor himself, would have been left dissatisfied whatever Pope Benedict would have said. The Pope`s speech was correct and sympathetic. |
