| You are distorting history. It was the Palestinians who started by attacking the Jews in Palestine and the Arab countries made it entirely clear that they proposed to attack Israel as soon as its independence was declared. If the Arabs had accepted the partition proposals there is no reason to believe that there would have been any forced refugees. As it was the Jews of Palestine were forced to defend themselves. I might add that no Jews were allowed to remain in areas occupied by the Arabs in 1948 (that compares with Israel where a significant Arab minority was allowed to remain). The Jews in the rest of the middle east (who equal in number the Palestinian refugees) have also been forced to leave their homes. I do not deny there were Palestinian refugees but the problems were caused by the Arab worlds unsuccessful resort to violence and have been matched by the Jewish refugees caused by the conflict who you do not even acknowlege. |
