Israel`s red lines will always be security and no refugees. To uphold settlements and an undivided Jerusalem may be a clever move to show he will ultimately make "painful concessions" on these two less than vital aspects. But I don`t think Bibi is that smart now. The way he phrased his declaration about NEVER will Jerusalem be divided, seems a public vow in front of the entire planet, not a tactic for negotiations. The zig-zag of the undisciplined 30 ministers, notably Yaalon, who open their mouths as much and as big as they like, renders this Israeli government a shameful hodge-podge of egos, clueless about the true weight the USA has for Israel. The collision course is all too evident, despite the camouflage. |
