Tom Lobo Meyer- As an American I want to thank you. My first reaction to the settlers referring to the President of the United States as "Hussein Obama" was much more confrontational then it is now after having read your post.
I`m an American who has been to Israel many times. I consider myself a freind of Israel, and my son has studied there, working on his masters, at one of Israel`s great universities.
For me it`s important to respect the head of state of ANY country. I would, if I had the opportunity to meet any Prime Minister of Israel, or to simply speak of them, always refer to them with respect- regardless of whether or not I agreed with them on this or that issue. Their position deserves that they be addressed as, or called, Mr. / Mrs. Prime Minister. They do not need to have there name used, or a part of their name used, derisively. To do so would disrespect their country and its citizens. |
