President invades practical politics
Again and again Israel?s President Mr. Shimon Peres is making political opinionated announcements to Foreign Officials, newspapers etc. forgetting that his function as President of the State is definitely without any executive power except clemency decisions counter, signing of laws and giving to a Knesset Member the authority to form a government which later will be later sworn in by him like swearing in of judges and other government appointed people only.
Unfortunately President Peres has forgotten that his factual political carrier was ended by his election to this ?? mainly ornamental functions of a President??
Today?s statement published made to Javier Solana European Union`s chief foreign policy official ??during the session, Peres said that Israel and the Palestinians should agree on the declaration of a Palestinian state with temporary borders, "subject to a clear promise that the border will in a short span of time become permanent borders?? ? Apparently President Shimon Peres as not yet understood that his opinions expressed to Foreign delegates etc. are no longer private, personnel, political expressions, b u t carry atleast a semi official, interpretation of Israel?s policies, which here are published w i t h o u t any public control and could / would influence far beyond the private opinion.- With other words here a definite political interpretation is being made public and can be used by others at unsuitable occasions of Israel?s policy i.e. a possible counter-productive effect may be caused by such unnecessary unauthorized statements.-
Parliamentary and governmental authorities must step-in to prevent further incident. |
