Successive Isreali governments would never have spent billions of dollars on West Bank settlement infrastructure if they did not intend for these colonies to be permanent. The charade of a settlement freeze or a presumptive peace process is only a smoke screen for further annexation of land and settlement expansion.
The irony is that this continued avarice will nullify the possibility of a two state solution and eventually turn Israel/Palestine into a single binational state, save for the possibility of a major ethnic cleansing campaign a la 1948/67. |
