No, I don`t think Netanyahu is that stupid, except insofar as he thinks his supporters are.
How stupid?
To think that Obama, playing a waiting-game with Iran worthy of Washington at Valley Forge, or Churchill not evacuating Coventry, would now, after being entangled with an obstinate Israeli prime minister who comes close to biting the hand that feeds him (the US), would now, follow Netanyahu`s `lead` and come-onside for the desired distracting war with Iran.
Israel doesn`t give civil or political rights to many people it occupies and has de facto sovereignty over. Its claims to be a democracy are severely undermined as a result and it is in no condition to lecture anyone on taking on Iran. (Israel itself has not come clean on its nuclear program.)
Obama`s agenda is no nukes for anyone. Netanyahu should get onside or risk losing funding. |
