The US is not striving for a crushed or broken Israel, the US is seeking a mature partner for peace.
The refusal of Netanyahu to accept previous commitments made by Israeli administrations left the US with no choice but to state clearly and publicly its policy in regard to Israel.
Israeli attempts to make claims with regard to secret deals made with the Bush administration were only ended when Clinton stated that there was on evidence of any such agreements.
The US makes provides massive diplomatic, military and financial support to Israel, hardly the actions of a country looking to crush Israel.
Do not blame the US for the problems of Israel, if it wants to be treated as an equal, Israel must take full responsibility for its own actions. |
