| I agree Natalie, 30 years of sanctions has done little to change Iranian behavior. There are always other nations still willing to deal with Iran. Nonetheless, there must be more creative ways of sanctioning Iran, and it seems to me that never has there been a more propitious time to do this than right now ... after this sham election. This is a regime propped up by petrodollars. They do to the basiji and pasdaran in exchange for their loyalty to the demogogic mullahs. We must find ways of stopping this lifeline. At the same time we could do more to limit the amount of gasoline imports. Iran needs to import about half of its gasoline consumption. All of these measures, if enacted, would really begin to weigh down on the Islamic Republic. Now is the time to move. The Iranian people would be with us as well, I am sure. |
