| Nobody can really believe the present Israeli government is interested in conducting serious peace talks with the Palestinians. Nobody can seriously deny the settlements are illegal which is clearly stated in the 49th article of the 4th Geneva Convention and UNSC resolution 465. It`s amusing to hear the right wing try and twist words or play semantics to fool others but most of us recognize what it is right away. President Obama is right to demand nothing short of a total settlement freeze and force Israel to comply with the law. I don`t object to some minor gestures of good will on the part of some of the arab states but before real peace can ever occur Israel must get serious in regards to complying with binding UNSC resolutions, international law and of course their violations of the ICJ ruling at the Hague. |
