Thousands turned out on Monday to welcome the 7,000 athletes at the Ramat Gan stadium.

Thousands of Israelis and Jewish sports fans turned out on Monday night to welcome the 7,000 athletes from around the world at the opening ceremony for the 18th Maccabiah Games at the Ramat Gan national stadium.




Joining the spectators for the ceremony were Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres.
