Last update - 14:24 28/03/2008 Man, 24, suspected of trying to poison his pregnant partner By Eli Ashkenazi, Haaretz Correspondent Tags: Beit She'an, Israel  A 24-year-old Beit She'an resident was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of trying to poison his pregnant partner, 25. Police suspect he tried to harm the fetus after hearing that the woman didn't intend to have an abortion. A Beit She'an police spokesperson said that "it emerges that the woman told her partner she was pregnant a few days ago. The suspect asked her to have an abortion, and when she refused he decided to harm the fetus." Advertisement The defendant, who is an exterminator, allegedly mixed pesticides in his partner's drink. Her suspicion was raised when she tasted the drink, and subsequently reported to Afula's Haemek hospital and notified the police. The woman and the fetus were unaffected by the attempted poisoning.
