Police investigation indicates that the victim was in the middle of his shift as a security guard when an acquaintance visited him. The two had been eating and drinking alcoholic drinks together.

A scuffle appears to have broken out, during which Maroshnikov is believed to have been murdered from repeated beating.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene confirmed him dead. Police arrested the acquaintance.
