Police investigating possible murder-suicide near Ben Shemen
By Jonathan Lis, Haaretz Correspondent
Tags: Murder, Crime

Border patrolmen on Saturday found the bodies of a woman reported missing and her ex-husband in a car outside Moshav Ben Shemen in central Israel.

Details of the cause of death for the two victims have still not been released, but police found a suicide note and a pistol inside the car and are treating the incident as a murder suicide.

Earlier on Friday, Shlomo Rahavi left a letter at his home where he wrote that he was going to find his ex-wife Yafa Rahavi and attempt to reconcile with her. He then reportedly picked Yafa up from her house and since then, the two were not seen or heard from again till their bodies were found Saturday.

Police had begun searching for the two on Friday evening after receiving a complaint that Yafa did not report for work. They carried out an extensive search for her hours later and finally found her and Shlomo dead in a car Saturday.
